Teyana Taylor takes tuxedo proportions to a new scale at the All’s Fair premiere

Teyana Taylor chose Nicholas Oakwell couture for the New York All’s Fair premiere. A cropped jacket and expansive trousers gave familiar formalwear a new shape.

Teyana Taylor used exaggerated tailoring to stand out at the All’s Fair premiere in New York on November 2, 2026. Her Nicholas Oakwell couture look took recognizable formalwear elements and changed their scale, with a shortened jacket above dramatically wide trousers.

Red Carpet Fashion Awards credits Oakwell’s Just Charles Collection and stylists Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald. Its breakdown includes a double-breasted cropped jacket, ivory corset, sheer shirt front, white bow tie and sculptural bow. Tom and Lorenzo’s premiere coverage also identifies the designer.

Short above, expansive below

NewsHoxs style analysis: A cropped jacket makes the transition to wide trousers immediately visible. Instead of extending a long jacket over the hips, it leaves the lower silhouette to establish its own shape. The proportions become the point of the outfit.

The bow and shirt details retain a connection to formal dress, even as the overall outline moves away from a conventional suit. That combination is what makes the look legible: familiar components give the eye a reference before the unusual scale changes the impression.

How to experiment with volume without losing structure

Try changing one half of an outfit first. Wide trousers with a shorter, more defined top are easier to evaluate than an entirely oversized combination. Look at where the jacket ends, how the waistband sits and whether the trouser hem remains manageable while walking.

Comfort and movement are useful tests of proportion. A still photograph cannot establish whether a garment is easy to sit in, climb stairs in or wear for several hours. For personal styling, those checks matter alongside the front-facing silhouette.

At the same premiere, Kim Kardashian’s Ashi Studio gown concentrated attention on surface texture. Taylor’s look offers the contrasting lesson: changing scale can transform familiar clothes.
